Here's where to look for the records most people ask about in Lake County:
- Court case files: see criminal court case records, or contact the clerk of the court that heard the case
- Criminal records and rap sheets: contact the Colorado Bureau of Investigation
- Arrest, booking, and jail records: contact the Lake County sheriff's records unit
- Official background checks: order through the Colorado Bureau of Investigation
- Police reports and incident records: contact the agency that wrote the report
- Expungement and record sealing: file with the court that heard the case
